TRIP TO CAMIGUIN (April 8-12)

CAMIGUIN ISLAND

this is the collage of our pictures taken when we were on our way to the island of Camiguin and we were riding a RORO vessel. There were a lot of passengers, we even had to cancel our first ticket and had it refunded because the vessel got overloaded and the PPA wont allow it to sail unless it will discharge some passengers. We were boarded to another vessel Super Shuttle Ferry (Sakay Na!). We arrived at Guinsiliban Port after an hour then we took a Motorela to Catarman. On our first night we stayed at the Residence of Mrs. Cenia Jurial. Our stay was free of charge. The next morning we visited their Sto. Niño Cold Spring and the SODA Spring. It is called SODA spring because it taste like SODA. Our next location was in Mambajao the capital of Camiguin. We stayed at a lodging house. We visited their Ardent Hot Spring, and then take a look at their Katibawasan Falls. And the last place we visited was their White Island (SOOO AWESOME made of crashed shells).

I really had fun... that was my first vacation with my friends..whew ( hala ka oi dagko najud mi!). We spent most of our time laughing, eating, walking and riding a motorela. The people there were nice and accommodating though there were few who were rude and wise but Camiguin is a safe place to spend a vacation. If you love nature then take a visit to Camiguin. You'll experience a total vacation package. It is also a historic place. From mountains, volcanoes, hot and cold springs, caves, diving spot, to white beaches... what more will you ask for?...

Slow Dance

Have you ever watched kids

On a merry-go-round?

Or listened to the rain

Slapping on the ground?

Ever followed a butterfly’s erratic flight?

Or gazed at the sun into the fading night?

You better slow down,

Don’t dance too fast.

Time is short,

The music won’t last.

Do you run through each day

Or do you fly?

When you ask, “How are you?”

Do you hear the reply?

When the day is done

Do you lie in your bed

With the next hundred chores

Running through your head?

You’d better slow down,

Don’t dance too fast.

Time is short,

The music won’t last.

Ever told your child,

“We’ll do it tomorrow?”

And in your haste,

Not see his sorrow?

Ever lost touch

Let a good friendship die

‘Cause you never had time

To call and say, “Hi?”

You’d better slow down,

Don’t dance too fast.

Time is short,

The music won’t last.

When you run so fast to get somewhere

You miss half the fun of getting there.

When you worry and hurry through

your day,

It is like an unopened gift...

Thrown away.

Life is not a race,

Do take it slower.

Hear the music

Before the song is over.

I copied this poem from FUNFARE By Ricardo F. Lo (Philstar News Service, www.philstar.com). It was stated in his article that this poem was originaly written by a child while dying of cancer at a New York hospital a few years ago. Isn't it nice? it is telling us to love and value our friends and to make use of our time and enjoy life's simple pleasures...
